Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Punchy!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Punchy.
Baha connects with the punch.


It looks like Trent Punchy has been cut.
Punchy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Baha throws a jab but it's blocked by Punchy.
Baha scores with a head kick.
Punchy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Badou Baha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Punchy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Baha throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Punchy slips a jab from Baha.
Baha has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tōshi in the buildup to the fight.

Punchy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Baha was well out of range. Poor timing from Punchy.

Baha takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Badou Baha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Punchy.

Baha fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Punchy lunges at Baha with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Baha's hand.

Punchy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Baha is trying to defend but Punchy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Baha on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Baha tries to get out of the position.

Baha tries to kick Punchy off but Punchy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Punchy throwing shots but Baha is blocking nicely.
Punchy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Baha tries to roll over but Punchy keeps him under control.
Punchy is looking to take a break and control but Baha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Punchy misses with a head shot. Baha uses the momentum to regain guard.
Punchy chips away with some ground and pound.
Punchy trying to control but Baha is working from the bottom.
Punchy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Punchy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Punchy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Baha's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punchy chips away with some ground and pound.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Baha walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Punchy moves out of range as Baha strikes.

and Baha counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Punchy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baha.
Punchy throws out a counter right but Baha avoids it with no problem.
Punchy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Punchy on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Punchy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Baha sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baha scores with a punch to the head.

Baha lands a big head kick that sends Punchy tumbling to the mat! Baha takes a step backwards and waves Punchy back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Punchy is still on wobbly legs! Can Baha finish him?
Punchy throws a wild body kick that Baha sees coming a mile off.
Baha throws a big shot that misses.
Punchy seems to have recovered his senses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Punchy.
Punchy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punchy in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Baha is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
