Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Collin Bullock (ranked 24040 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Howard (ranked 5224 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howard darts in and clinches Bullock up against the cage.

Howard decides to pull guard.

Bullock throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howard has his foot on Bullock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bullock works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Howard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bullock napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Howard is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bullock will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Howard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Howard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bullock is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Howard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bullock's guard.
