Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezequiel Bentley (ranked 23373 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Cocia (ranked 5223 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Cocia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ezequiel Bentley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Cocia!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cocia gets the takedown into side control.
Cocia moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Cocia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cocia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bentley is pushing Cocia's head away, looking to escape. Cocia manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bentley is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cocia connects with a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here as Cocia stalls from top position.

Cocia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Cocia is trying to get an arm triangle but Bentley is defending well.
Bentley wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Cocia wants to stand but Bentley is controlling his arm.
Bentley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bentley wants to get back to his feet but Cocia drags him back down.

Bentley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cocia asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cocia moves into full mount!
Bentley throwing hammer fists to the chest of Cocia. What's that going to do exactly?
Bentley is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Cocia looking to control and managing it successfully.

Cocia is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bentley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bentley regains half guard.
Bentley tries to kick Cocia off but Cocia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Cocia is looking for a kimura but Bentley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cocia to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bentley tries to get to full guard but Cocia has control of the leg.
Bentley wants to get back to his feet.
Bentley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cocia is working away from the top position though.
Bentley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cocia scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bentley is trying to control but Cocia passes into side control!
Bentley is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Bentley gets back to half guard.
Cocia not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Cocia might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cocia tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bentley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Cocia stops Bentley from getting back to his feet.
Cocia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cocia seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bentley avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Cocia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cocia closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Cocia shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cocia was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cocia is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bentley will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Bentley pushes Cocia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cocia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Cocia is staying tight to Bentley's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Bentley is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Bentley manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cocia's best efforts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cocia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bentley sees it coming and defends easily.
Cocia keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Bentley tries to kick Cocia off in order to stand up. Cocia Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Bentley tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Bentley wants to get back to his feet.
Cocia punches Bentley on the ear.
Cocia just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Cocia is continuing to stall.
The adventures of Cocia the control monster continue. Boring.
Bentley tries to escape but Cocia has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cocia is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Bentley is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Cocia connects with a big shot to the side of Bentley's head.

Oh Bentley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cocia is landing big shots and Bentley is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Cocia!
