Hjung has chosen Korean National Anthem as his entrance music. Freddy Thompson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Man Soo Hjung's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but Hjung shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hjung as he jumps to the side.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddy Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hjung slaps away a takedown attempt from Thompson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Thompson backs off Hjung throws a huge counter combo but Thompson manages to avoid it all.

Hjung has managed to clinch.

Hjung wants the takedown. Thompson is fighting it off but Hjung persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Thompson's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hjung is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Thompson is trying to hold Hjung in close to prevent damage but Hjung has managed to pass into half guard.

and Thompson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hjung has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Thompson uses from the top position.
Thompson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hjung is pulling down on Thompson's head. It's preventing any offense from Thompson, at least for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hjung manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Thompson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hjung pulls his leg out and moves away.

Hjung throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Thompson escapes and throws Hjung's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Hjung sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Thompson is trying to work for a kimura but Hjung is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

My spies in The Dam Gym inform me that Hjung has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hjung sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thompson's guard.

Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hjung walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Thompson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Thompson digs a good hook to Hjung's body.
Thompson tries to clinch up but Hjung circles away and keeps his distance.

Thompson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A head kick from Hjung lands but Thompson takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Thompson tries to keep at a distance but Hjung has taken the fight into the clinch.
Thompson has Hjung pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hjung manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hjung is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Thompson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Thompson looking to sit in guard and control but Hjung gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hjung accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hjung decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thompson, up you get!

Hjung rushes Thompson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hjung.

Hjung has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Thompson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Thompson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hjung checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

The fighters circle momentarily. Thompson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hjung has taken the fight to the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hjung had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thompson defends it easily.

Man Soo Hjung comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hjung has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
