PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otavio Braga (ranked 3199 p4p, 404 weight class) and A A Ron Jenkins (ranked 4674 p4p, 500 weight class). Braga comes into the arena with Aerials blaring out of the sound system. Jenkins has chosen Iron Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Braga dives in and scores a takedown into Jenkins's guard.
Braga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Braga definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Braga is working hard here to advance position.
Jenkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Braga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Braga stays in close to Jenkins's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Braga pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jenkins is keeping the position for now.

Braga slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jenkins is pushing Braga's head away, looking to escape. Braga manages to hold on to the position though.
Jenkins seems a little lost for a moment, as Braga dominates the positioning.
Braga has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jenkins is trying to escape the position but Braga is controlling the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jenkins scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Braga shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Braga stands up over Jenkins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Braga scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Braga controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Braga passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Braga in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Braga prevents Jenkins from standing back up.
Braga tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jenkins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Braga looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Braga takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Jenkins is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Braga asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Braga in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Braga passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jenkins!
Braga takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jenkins is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Braga is landing with some decent strikes but Jenkins is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

It looks like A A Ron Jenkins has been cut.
