Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Winters (ranked 5159 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Neale (ranked 6720 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Neale will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Trevor Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Neale!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neale scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Neale has a takedown stuffed.

Winters clinches.

Winters's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Neale throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Neale fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Winters changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Trevor Winters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Neale.

and Winters counters with a nice double leg into side control. Neale won't be happy with that.

Neale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neale goes for a double leg but Winters avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Winters continues to drive forward.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neale lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Winters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Trevor Winters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fighters are battling for position here. Winters manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Neale decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Neale tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Winters defends well and Neale ends up having to push Winters into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Winters throws a body shot but no joy.

Winters shoots in and bounces Neale off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neale looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Winters throws an elbow that misses. Neale uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Winters's guard. Nice move by Neale!


Neale drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Winters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Neale has Winters in his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Daniel Neale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Neale feints a jab promting Winters to slip. Neale then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Winters slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Winters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Neale to the ground. Winters is now in Neale's guard.

Neale wriggles free and stands up.
Neale shoots in and drives through. Winters sprawls well.
Winters is trying hard to land a takedown here. Neale sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Neale shoots in looking for a takedown. Winters tries to sprawl out of it but Neale keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Winters manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Neale gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Winters jumps guard but Neale stands there with Winters around his waist. Winters gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Winters has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Neale's face.

Winters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neale has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Winters is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Neale.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trevor Winters.
I think Winters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
