Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Maynard (ranked 5205 p4p, 0 weight class) and Strike Zombie (ranked 5417 p4p, 0 weight class). Strike Zombie will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Maynard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Maynard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zombie sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Maynard wants to take a breather but Zombie manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Maynard .

Zombie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Zombie tries to close the distance and clinch but Maynard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Maynard stuffs the takedown attempt from Zombie . Zombie gets slowly back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryan Maynard .
