Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gale Mcfadden (ranked 22710 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Borisov (ranked 5160 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gale Mcfadden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Borisov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfadden on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mcfadden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Borisov feints and as Mcfadden raises his hands in defense, Borisov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Borisov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Borisov gets a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mcfadden could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mcfadden slows down the pace here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Borisov is trying to trip Mcfadden. He has hold of a leg but Mcfadden is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Borisov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Borisov wanted to stand there but Mcfadden had control of the position.
Mcfadden is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Borisov is controlling Mcfadden's position as best he can from this difficult position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Borisov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mcfadden.
Borisov wants to control but Mcfadden is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Borisov wants to improve his position but Mcfadden is controlling well.
Borisov keeps trying to improve his position.

Borisov is concentrating on defense, preventing Mcfadden from advancing position.

Mcfadden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Borisov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mcfadden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mcfadden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Borisov swivels and escapes.
Borisov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Borisov gets a double leg takedown into Mcfadden's guard.
Borisov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mcfadden trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Borisov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mcfadden controls Borisov momentarily but Borisov frees himself.
Mcfadden keeping moving, preventing Borisov from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Borisov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcfadden.

Borisov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcfadden napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mcfadden throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Borisov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck for Mcfadden with that takedown attempt.

Mcfadden gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Borisov stands up and waves to Mcfadden to follow him.

Oleg Borisov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Borisov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Borisov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Borisov showed some decent athleticism there.
Borisov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mcfadden wants to improve his position but Borisov is controlling well.
Borisov is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mcfadden!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mcfadden wants to control but Borisov is having none of it.

Mcfadden tries to lock up and control but Borisov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcfadden is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Borisov moves to the back position.
Borisov connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Mcfadden to escape the position.
Mcfadden trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Mcfadden tries to roll but Borisov sticks to his back.

Borisov darts in and clinches Mcfadden up against the cage.

Borisov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Borisov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mcfadden goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mcfadden throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Borisov blocks it with crossed arms.

Borisov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mcfadden regains guard immediately.

Mcfadden pushes Borisov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Oleg Borisov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcfadden enables Borisov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcfadden manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Borisov stands up from Mcfadden's guard - Borisov perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mcfadden is fighting off a takedown attempt but Borisov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mcfadden to the mat. Mcfadden regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Borisov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
