The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barton fails with a takedown attempt.
Fiaz blocks the body kick.
Fiaz throws a body shot but no joy.
Barton moves out of range as Fiaz strikes.
Barton dives in and grabs Fiaz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fiaz pushes down on Barton 's head and hops out.
Barton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fiaz as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Barton . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fiaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Barton sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Fiaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barton keeps working.

Fiaz moves nicely into side control.
Fiaz is looking to take a break and control but Barton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fiaz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barton , who protects the arm well.
Barton is not content to let Fiaz control the position.
Fiaz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barton haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fiaz looking to control but instead Barton has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Barton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Barton is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fiaz.
Fiaz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barton stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A combination from Fiaz does no damage.
Barton shoots for a double leg takedown but Fiaz sprawls well. He's pushed Barton 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fiaz scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Barton needs to keep his hands up - Fiaz had a free shot at his head there.
Barton throws a head kick that misses.
Fiaz throws out a powerful jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barton walks into a stiff left hand from Fiaz.

Barton drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fiaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Fiaz is tightening it up a little... Barton has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Barton reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Barton taps out! Nice BJJ there by Fiaz!
