PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cristian Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Peixoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peixoto has chosen Nirvana - Breed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries to clinch but Peixoto is having none of it.
Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Peixoto, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Peixoto against the cage but Peixoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sanchez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peixoto tries to avoid it but Sanchez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peixoto to the ground. Peixoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

I looks like Peixoto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Sanchez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Peixoto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sanchez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Peixoto's back instead.

Sanchez cracks Peixoto with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Peixoto from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
