Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edwin Marquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Green Cross!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez connects with a leg kick. Cross looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Cross is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marquez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Cross's coach down at Rabid Reindeer Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cross's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Cross lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Cross moves in looking to clinch but Marquez pushes him off.

It looks like Green Cross has been cut.

Marquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cross tries to clinch but Marquez is having none of it.
Marquez throws a jab but it's blocked by Cross.

and Cross takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Cross fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marquez to the ground. Cross is now in Marquez's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Marquez manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Marquez went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Marquez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cross.

and Marquez counters with a good low kick that Cross was not able to check.
Marquez has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

and Marquez counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Marquez lands with a nice body punch.

Cross tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marquez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marquez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Marquez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cross can do to turn this around?

Marquez lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Cross falls backwards - clearly groggy! Marquez dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
