Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones's entrance music is Everybody Knows. A fine choice. Hammer has chosen Nine Inch Nails - Wish as his entrance music. Jack Hammer will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Jones misses.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Hammer missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hammer waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Jones.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Hammer shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Hammer's shoulder, as Hammer tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Hammer is retaining full guard.

Hammer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
Hammer chips away with some ground and pound.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hammer landing rabbit punches to the side of Jones's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Hammer tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Hammer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jones blocks the strikes from Hammer.
Hammer tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Hammer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hammer is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hammer misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hammer tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Hammer gets back to full guard.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jones ducks under a wild hook from Hammer.
Jones has his takedown stuffed
and Hammer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hammer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jones defending well as Hammer loads up on a big left hand.
Hammer throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Jack Hammer has been cut.
Hammer looks gassed!

Nice defenses there by Jones.
Jones wants to clinch but Hammer slips to the side
enabling Hammer to counter with a crisp jab.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hammer.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt

and Hammer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hammer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hammer's back!
Jones scores with punches to the body.

Jones is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Hammer is defending well though. Jones let's go of the attempt for now.
Hammer tries to break free.

Hammer turns into Jones and is now in his guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jones looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hammer throwing strikes but Jones manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Hammer is looking to reverse the position.

Jones decides to stand back up.
Hammer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Hammer will be more careful next time no doubt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Hammer tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hammer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones tries to clinch up but Hammer circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Jones will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jack Hammer's cut.
That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Hammer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Nice body punch from Hammer - that landed with a thud.
Hammer lands a left hand.
Hammer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hammer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hammer scores with a shoulder strike.

Hammer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Jones is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Hammer frees his head nicely. Oh but Jones has switched to an armbar! Hammer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
