The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Peters as he checks the leg kick.

Chan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Chan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Peters tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chan is in Peters's guard.

Chan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Chan wants to get up but he can't break Peters's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Chan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Peters is defending well for now.
Peters goes for a takedown attempt but Chan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chan attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Chan tries to land a front kick but Peters steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Buford Peters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jet Chan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Chan moves into range and clinches up with Peters.
