Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Noob Saibot (ranked 1567 p4p, 154 weight class) and Gary Tonon (ranked 2012 p4p, 181 weight class). Saibot comes to the cage accompanied by TEST YOUR MIGHT. Tonon has chosen What About Now as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 25 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Tonon!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonon has a takedown stuffed.
Saibot circles away from the clinch attempt
and Saibot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Saibot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Tonon tries to keep at a distance but Saibot has taken the fight into the clinch.
Saibot lands a left hand that snaps the head of Tonon backwards.

Tonon pulls guard successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saibot wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Tonon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saibot with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tonon is trying to control the action in half guard but Saibot is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Saibot is looking for a sweep. Tonon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Tonon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Saibot is just riding it out for now. Tonon eventually gives up the hold.
Saibot tries to roll over but Tonon keeps him under control.
Tonon is taking a breather. Saibot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tonon uses his free foot to push down on Saibot's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Saibot.

Tonon looking to control but Saibot is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Tonon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tonon is landing with some decent strikes but Saibot is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Saibot is wriggling around trying to escape.
Saibot wants to hold on but Tonon pushes him away.
Saibot really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Saibot takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Gary Tonon will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Tonon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Saibot as he avoids it easily.
Tonon throws a head kick that misses.
Saibot throws a big counter combination but Tonon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Saibot jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Saibot misses the jab.
Tonon is looking to clinch but Saibot is avoiding it.
Tonon fails with a takedown attempt.
Tonon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Saibot scores with a body shot.
Tonon defending well as Saibot loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saibot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tonon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tonon wants to control from the top but Saibot keeps moving.

Saibot bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tonon's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saibot is on top in guard.

Saibot stands up over Tonon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Saibot postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Saibot throws a sloppy strike and Tonon has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Saibot is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Tonon!
