Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jammin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jammin comes to the cage accompanied by Dance Monkey. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Jammin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, BJ Penn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jammin tries to clinch there but Penn circles away.
Jammin is looking to clinch.

Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jammin moves into full guard.
Penn won't allow Jammin to get back to his feet.
Jammin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Penn wants to pass the guard but Jammin is keeping the position.
Jammin wants to stand up but Penn is controlling him.
Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Jammin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Penn wants to stand but Jammin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Penn tries to keep at a distance but Jammin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jammin wants a takedown but no success here.
Penn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jammin smiles and moves away.
Jammin is looking to slow Penn down with leg kicks.
Penn tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Jammin counters with a takedown into side control.
Penn tries to bench press Jammin off him but Jammin keeps the position.

Penn struggling a bit here.

Jammin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Penn to his feet.

Jammin clinches with his opponent.
Jammin works on Penn's body with a couple of short punches.

Jammin breaks from the clinch.
Penn tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Jammin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Penn looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Penn, not yet.
Penn keeping moving, preventing Jammin from controlling successfully.

Jammin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jammin wants to stand but Penn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jammin stopping the sweep attempt from Penn.
Jammin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Penn working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jammin has passed into half guard!

Jammin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jammin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Penn looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Jammin stands and steps away. Penn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Jammin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penn's guard.
Ben Jammin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jammin gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.
Penn looks to land a combination but Jammin avoids it well.
Penn shoots and misses
and Jammin counters with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jammin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Penn tries for a takedown but Jammin circles away easily

and Jammin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ben Jammin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.

Jammin wants the takedown. Penn is fighting it off but Jammin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Penn's guard against the cage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Penn doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jammin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Penn throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jammin escapes and throws Penn's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Penn tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jammin presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jammin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Penn is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Penn and Jammin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Penn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Penn is trying to control Jammin's posture but Jammin avoids it.

Jammin stands up.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Penn has his takedown stuffed
and Jammin counters with a head kick. That will keep Penn thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Jammin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Penn, pushing him back against the cage.
Penn fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jammin is leaning against Penn and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Jammin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jammin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Penn is trying to improve his position.

Jammin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Penn to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jammin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Penn wants to get back to his feet.

Penn tries to roll over but Jammin keeps him under control.
Penn is looking to control Jammin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Penn avoid being mounted?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn tries to get to full guard but Jammin has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jammin closes the distance and pushes Penn back into the cage.

Jammin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Penn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Penn is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jammin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Penn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Penn is trying to maintain the position but Jammin is very close to passing his half guard.
Jammin looks to land a strike but Penn avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Jammin lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penn working for submissions but it's allowed Jammin to get to half guard.
Jammin tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jammin is thwarting Penn's attempts to control the position.
Jammin is trying to control the action in half guard but Penn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Penn trying to control but Jammin postures up.
Jammin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ben Jammin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jammin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
