The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marais throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Marais shoots for a double leg takedown but Grantham sprawls well. He's pushed Marais's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Grantham looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A low kick from Grantham is predictable there

and Marais counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marais looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grantham with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marais in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Grantham tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Marais!
