Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrel Kidd (ranked 7082 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Conners (ranked 4508 p4p, 0 weight class). Darrel Kidd is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Conners!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Conners gets a double leg takedown into Kidd's guard.

Kidd has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Conners can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conners stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kidd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kidd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Conners is aware though and is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Conners controls the position.
Kidd really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Conners has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kidd has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
I really don't envy Kidd right now.
Kidd is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Conners gets his hands free as Kidd looks to control.

Conners is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kidd has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Stan Conners showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Conners shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kidd napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kidd manages to get back to half guard.
Kidd regains full guard. Nicely done.

Conners comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Kidd is looking to break free of the clinch but Conners has double underhooks.

Conners's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Kidd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Conners is continuing to stall.
Conners wants to control from the top but Kidd keeps moving.
Conners trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Conners stays in close to Kidd's body and controls the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Let's hope that Conners has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
