The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mays closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mays lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jancic manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Mays has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jancic is trying to keep an underhook but Mays manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Jancic is controlling Mays's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Jancic closes the distance and clinches up with Mays, looking for a takedown. Jancic pushes Mays against the cage but Mays circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mays throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jancic tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mays is in Jancic's guard.

Jancic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mays is aware though and is defending well.

That was a close round but I would say that Keith Mays will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mays closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jancic got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mays has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jancic has managed to get both his arms back between Mays's legs - danger averted.

Jancic is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mays's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mays's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mays is trying to remain composed but Jancic is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Jancic is looking for a choke. Mays gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Mays manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jancic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jancic seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mays is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jancic slips a nice elbow through Mays's hands, connecting with Mays's forehead.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
