Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between roger whitmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alguem Bom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). roger whitmore has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, roger whitmore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alguem Bom! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! whitmore avoids a punch combination nicely.
whitmore shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bom's guard. whitmore working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bom's head. whitmore throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bom works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bom keeping moving, preventing whitmore from controlling successfully. whitmore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. whitmore tries to free his leg and advance position but Bom is retaining full guard. Bom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. whitmore thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bom working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from whitmore. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. whitmore won't allow Bom to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bom lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Bom missing with a left hand there. whitmore was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bom throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bom avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bom tries to keep at a distance but whitmore has taken the fight into the clinch. whitmore keeps control of Bom as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. whitmore is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bom has had enough of the clinch but whitmore keeps him there for the moment. A looping hook to the body misses from Bom. whitmore does a little dance to reset his feet. Bom looks to land a right hand but whitmore moved out of range. whitmore gets the takedown into side control. whitmore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bom keeps working. whitmore has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bom is pushing whitmore's head away, looking to escape. whitmore manages to hold on to the position though. whitmore looks up at the clock and then as Bom takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, whitmore smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
whitmore is working Bom over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. whitmore looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. whitmore is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bom has escaped the position, nice work there. Check out the look on whitmore's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Bom looks gassed! whitmore tries to advance to mount but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! whitmore lands a nice forearm strike. whitmore is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bom is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. whitmore works to advance to full mount. Bom defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. whitmore scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bom?
That's three minutes gone in the round. whitmore is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! whitmore extends the arm and Bom is forced to tap!
