Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terrell Kerr (ranked 6489 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaxson Kane (ranked 3805 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaxson Kane is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrell Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxson Kane!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kerr feints and as Kane raises his hands in defense, Kerr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerr's guard.

Kane is stalling in the full guard.
Kerr keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kane looking to sit in guard and control but Kerr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr wants to pass the guard but Kane is keeping the position.

Kerr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kane dives on top into guard.

Kane trying to control but Kerr is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kerr is looking to sweep but instead, Kane has passed into half guard.
Kane wants to take a breather but Kerr is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kerr defending well though.
Kane throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kerr trying to hold on to Kane's head to control him but Kane postures up.
Kane tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kerr.
Kerr is looking to improve his position.
Kane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kerr's head.

Kerr blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kane.

Kane gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Kane drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kane wants to control from the top but Kerr keeps moving.
Kane loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kerr working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kane.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kerr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kerr shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kane.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A lazy body kick from Kane

and Kerr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kane won't be happy with that.
Kane wants to control but Kerr postures up.
Kane is looking to regain half guard here but Kerr keeps moving and retains side control.

Kerr goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kane rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kerr's guard! Nice work there by Kane!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kane wants to stand and escape but instead Kerr has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kerr stops Kane from standing up.

Kerr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kane has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kerr has managed to get both his arms back between Kane's legs - danger averted.

Kerr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kerr, into his guard.

Kane throws a strike but Kerr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kerr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kerr, into his guard.

Kerr keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully.
Kane is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Kerr throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Kerr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kerr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kerr is looking for a triangle but Kane pushes his legs off easily.

Kerr keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully.

Kane trying to control but Kerr is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kane stuffs the takedown.
Kane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kerr.
Kerr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jaxson Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr tries to clinch but Kane is having none of it.

Kane shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kerr napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kerr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kane wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kane wants to control but Kerr is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kerr defending against the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jaxson Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Kane looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kerr!
Kerr is trying to get back to half guard.
Kane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kane swings around for an armbar but Kerr sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kane's guard.
Kerr is looking to stand up but Kane won't let him.

Kerr drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kane looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kane looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kane!

Kane working away.
Kane with the ground and pound but Kerr regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Kane landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kerr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kane moves nicely into side control.
Kane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kerr keeps working.
Kerr prevents Kane from moving into mount.
A lull in the action here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kane trying to control the position but Kerr is working away.
Kerr wants to control but Kane postures up.
Kane tries to advance to mount but can't.
Kane looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kerr is avoiding damage well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kerr doesn't manage to clinch there - Kane circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kane falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kerr counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kerr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kerr wants to get up but he can't break Kane's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kerr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kerr, into his guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kane works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Terrell Kerr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jaxson Kane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
