Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gino Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blooddrunk. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Carano or perhaps it was just good defense by Silver which made him look bad.
Carano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silver manages to avoid it.
Carano uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Silver turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silver pushes Carano away with a front kick.
Carano is breathing heavily.
Carano stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silver.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silver moves in looking to clinch but Carano pushes him off.
Silver with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Silver throws a leg kick which misses Carano's front leg but catches the back leg as Carano tries to avoid it.
Carano looks to throw the jab but Silver is out of range.
Carano tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Silver fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silver misses with a head kick.
Silver wants to clinch.

Silver sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Carano to the ground! Silver dives into full mount looking to finish!

It looks like Gino Carano has been cut.
Silver sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silver is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Carano can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Carano is trying to escape the mount.

Silver can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carano is looking to escape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silver can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carano is looking to escape.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Silver just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silver paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silver finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silver, right into the meat.
Carano closes the distance and clinches up with Silver, looking for a takedown. Carano pushes Silver against the cage but Silver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big left from Carano misses.
Carano throws an overhand right that lands on Silver's shoulder, as Silver tries to avoid the shot.
Silver cracks Carano with an uppercut from hell and Carano crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Silver's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Silver tries to free his leg and advance position but Carano is retaining full guard.
Silver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Silver is working Carano over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Silver stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Carano throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silver on the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Silver dominated that round.

That's time! Carano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Carano checks a leg kick nicely.
Silver lands with a kick to the temple. Carano shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Silver has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Silver lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carano's sensitive parts.
Silver tries to clinch there but Carano circles away.

Good leg kick by Silver there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Silver lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carano has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carano and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Silver dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Carano. That did some damage!
Silver pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silver throws a series of punches but Carano avoids them all with ease.

Silver throws a nice looking combination but Carano bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silver instigates a clinch.

Carano is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The is referee keeping an eye on Silver - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Carano is trying to break free.

Carano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silver but Silver pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silver connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Silver uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carano.

Silver is working an open guard so Carano takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Silver throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Silver throws a nice inside leg kick.

Carano jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Silver throws a sloppy head kick and Carano moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carano chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silver can pounce on him.

Carano drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Carano misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Silver wants to control but Carano postures up.
Silver gets back to half guard.

Carano is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Silver gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silver wants to sweep but no luck.
Silver is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Silver utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carano wants to get up but he can't break Silver's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Carano drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silver dives on top into guard.
Silver passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Carano wants to get back to his feet but Silver drags him back down.
Silver in side control lands a decent elbow.
Carano throws a few strikes from the bottom but Silver takes advantage and mounts!
Silver lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gino Carano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

John Silver is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

John Silver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
