PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Prince Andrey (ranked 7320 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Sharp (ranked 7575 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Andrey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to King of the ring. Phil Sharp will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp stuns Andrey with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Sharp fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Andrey to the ground. Sharp is now in Andrey's guard.

Sharp has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Andrey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sharp.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sharp sneaks out the side door and pushes Andrey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Andrey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
