Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank McMally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elliot Carpenter could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank McMally's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Elliot Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank McMally!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMally shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carpenter as he avoids it easily.
McMally checks a leg kick.
McMally fails to land the takedown.
Carpenter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McMally shoots for a takedown but Carpenter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Elliot Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank McMally.

Carpenter has taken the fight to the clinch.

Carpenter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McMally gets caught flat footed, as Carpenter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carpenter wants to hold on but McMally pushes him away.

Carpenter bucks McMally off and manages to get back to his feet!
McMally fails with the takedown
and Carpenter counters with a three punch combo that has McMally backing up. McMally nods at Carpenter to acknowledge the strikes.

McMally gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Carpenter stays in close to McMally's body and controls the position.

Carpenter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McMally tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Carpenter wants to control from the top but McMally keeps moving.
Carpenter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McMally with a poor takedown
and Carpenter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McMally misses with a takedown attempt
and Carpenter counters with a left and a right that stings McMally.
Carpenter tries to close the distance and clinch but McMally swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McMally has his takedown stuffed

and Carpenter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

McMally looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Carpenter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McMally works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

McMally wants to sweep but no luck.
Carpenter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Carpenter wants to stand but McMally has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Carpenter distracts McMally with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Carpenter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McMally on the ground.
Carpenter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McMally wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McMally wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carpenter keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carpenter wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Carpenter is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McMally's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Carpenter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carpenter.

Carpenter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McMally can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carpenter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McMally is just riding it out for now. Carpenter eventually gives up the hold.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Carpenter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Frank McMally seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carpenter darts in and clinches McMally up against the cage.
McMally wants a takedown.
McMally changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carpenter fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and McMally counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Carpenter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McMally misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carpenter wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Frank McMally has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carpenter tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
McMally is landing with some decent strikes but Carpenter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Frank McMally comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carpenter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
