Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Mcdonald (ranked 5682 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Boy (ranked 4913 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerry Mcdonald had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry Mcdonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Boy!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdonald swings widly with a right hand

and Boy counters by clinching up.
Mcdonald is trying to drag Boy to the mat but Boy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mcdonald gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Boy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mcdonald knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boy on the ground.
Boy wants to control from the top but Mcdonald keeps moving.
Boy slips nicely into half guard.
Mcdonald tries to roll over but Boy keeps him under control.
Boy is keen to just control but Mcdonald is a slippery customer.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Boy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mcdonald is just riding it out for now. Boy eventually gives up the hold.

Boy is working for a kimura but Mcdonald is defending it quite comfortably.
Mcdonald keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Boy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mcdonald is not content to let Boy control the position.
Boy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boy with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mcdonald tries to clinch up but Boy circles away and keeps his distance.
Boy feints the counter takedown.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcdonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Boy.
Boy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcdonald tries to avoid it but Boy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcdonald to the ground. Mcdonald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Mcdonald wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Boy looks for a takedown but Mcdonald sprawls well.
Mcdonald appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

A close round but Stevie Boy will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mcdonald can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boy controls the pace.
Boy wants to pass the guard but Mcdonald is keeping the position.

Mcdonald went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Jerry Mcdonald is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boy shoots in for a takedown but Mcdonald shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Mcdonald connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Boy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mcdonald ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcdonald no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Boy is looking to take a break and control but Mcdonald is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boy is just content to waste time from the top position. Mcdonald takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Mcdonald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Boy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcdonald's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Boy lands a nice short elbow.

Boy is looking for a kimura but Mcdonald is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Boy to get the leverage.

Mcdonald pushes Boy off looking to stand but Boy dives back in and keeps control.

Boy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mcdonald holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcdonald tries to avoid it but Boy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcdonald to the ground. Mcdonald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boy shoots in looking for a takedown but Mcdonald manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mcdonald throws a big counter combination but Boy scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Mcdonald is looking to clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcdonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcdonald wants it to stay on the feet.

Boy wants to pass the guard but Mcdonald is keeping the position.
Boy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcdonald's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mcdonald tries to kick Boy off but Boy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stevie Boy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Boy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
