Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Naoise Durnin (ranked 1684 p4p, 68 weight class) and Diyorbek Nurudinov (ranked 947 p4p, 38 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Naoise Durnin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diyorbek Nurudinov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurudinov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Durnin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Durnin looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Durnin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Durnin throws a hook but Nurudinov blocks it.
Durnin misses the jab.
Nurudinov moves out of range as Durnin strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nurudinov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Durnin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durnin throws out a loose jab but Nurudinov uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Durnin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Nurudinov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A slapping leg kick lands for Durnin.
Durnin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Durnin appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Nurudinov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Durnin did well to prevent Nurudinov getting side control.

Durnin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Durnin tries to get out of the position.
Nurudinov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Durnin is looking for a sweep. Nurudinov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nurudinov lands a nice short elbow.
Nurudinov winds up and cracks Durnin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Durnin tries to roll over but Nurudinov keeps him under control.

Nurudinov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Durnin is trying to maintain the position but Nurudinov is very close to passing his half guard.
Durnin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nurudinov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Durnin is on top in guard.


Nurudinov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Durnin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Durnin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nurudinov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Durnin defends it easily.

Nurudinov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Durnin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nurudinov looking for subs off his back but Durnin has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nurudinov is trying to get back to full guard.
Durnin wants to take a breather but Nurudinov is having none of it.
Nurudinov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nurudinov is staying active underneath Durnin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nurudinov actively working from the bottom here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nurudinov wants to improve his position but Durnin is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durnin decides to stand and escape the position.

Nurudinov pushes Durnin up against the cage in a clinch.
Nurudinov throws a punch but it's blocked by Durnin.

Durnin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Durnin looks to land a left hand but Nurudinov moved out of range nicely.
Durnin cracks Nurudinov with an open hand slap.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nurudinov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nurudinov moves out of range as Durnin throws a body kick.
Durnin swats away the attempt to clinch by Nurudinov.
Nice defenses there by Nurudinov.
Nurudinov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Naoise Durnin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nurudinov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Durnin.
Durnin misses with a looping left.
Durnin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Durnin misses with a hook. Nurudinov ducked under it nicely.

Nurudinov lands a couple of elbows.
Durnin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Durnin is pulling down on Nurudinov's head. It's preventing any offense from Nurudinov, at least for the moment.
Nurudinov stops Durnin from standing up.
Nurudinov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Nurudinov scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Nurudinov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nurudinov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Durnin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Durnin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Durnin!

Nurudinov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Durnin off and has taken his back!

Nurudinov lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Nurudinov is hanging on to Durnin's back as he tries to escape.
Durnin is trying to stand back up.
Diyorbek Nurudinov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Durnin tries to break free.
Nurudinov is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Nurudinov gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Nurudinov gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Nurudinov apologises and we restart here on the feet.


Durnin is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nurudinov instigates a clinch.
Nurudinov wants a takedown.
Nurudinov has Durnin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Durnin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nurudinov wants to take the fight to the mat but Durnin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Naoise Durnin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diyorbek Nurudinov.
Durnin lands a body shot.
Nurudinov goes for a takedown attempt but Durnin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Durnin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nurudinov under the eye.

Durnin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nurudinov on the side of the head.
Nurudinov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Durnin quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Durnin cracks Nurudinov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Durnin throws a front kick that sends Nurudinov stumbling back into the cage.
Nurudinov is breathing heavily.
Nurudinov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Durnin as he jumps to the side.
Durnin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A telegraphed right hand from Durnin misses the target.
Nurudinov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Durnin misses with a straight right.
Donk. Durnin catches Nurudinov right on the button with a cross.


It looks like Diyorbek Nurudinov has been cut.
Durnin's corner calls for a 1-2. Durnin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nurudinov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Durnin.
Nurudinov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Nurudinov misses with a takedown attempt - Durnin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Durnin throws a wild body kick that Nurudinov sees coming a mile off.
Durnin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nurudinov was well out of range. Poor timing from Durnin.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Durnin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nurudinov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Durnin slaps away a takedown attempt from Nurudinov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A big right from Durnin misses.
Durnin lands a glancing blow to the side of Nurudinov's head.
Durnin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Naoise Durnin dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Diyorbek Nurudinov's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Durnin lands a big head kick that sends Nurudinov tumbling to the mat! Durnin takes a step backwards and waves Nurudinov back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Nurudinov is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Durnin. Nurudinov shrugs it off though.
Nurudinov is still on wobbly legs! Can Durnin finish him?
Nurudinov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Durnin scores with a leg kick.
Durnin is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Durnin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nurudinov gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Durnin gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Naoise Durnin!
An out of breath Naoise Durnin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
