Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kit Kat (ranked 5466 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques LaPorte (ranked 5926 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kat is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in LaPorte's half guard.
Kat is taking a breather. LaPorte says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kat wants to pass to mount but LaPorte is defending the position.
Kat is figuring out what he wants to do next.
LaPorte tries to roll over but Kat keeps him under control.

LaPorte has a hand on Kat's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kat takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Kat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. LaPorte can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

and Kat counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps LaPorte thinking.
LaPorte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kat but Kat pushes him off and we're back to square one.

What can LaPorte do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kat rushes LaPorte and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kat gets underhooks to prevent LaPorte's takedown attempt.
Kat tries to pull guard but LaPorte holds him up against the cage and eventually Kat drops back down to his feet.

Kat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Kat counters with a nice double leg into side control. LaPorte won't be happy with that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
LaPorte is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kit Kat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
