PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Riley Abbott (ranked 25424 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tai Whishermann (ranked 5236 p4p, 362 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abbott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Whishermann sprawls well initially but Abbott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Abbott working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Abbott shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Whishermann is trying to defend but Abbott finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Whishermann is looking for a sweep. Abbott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Whishermann throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Abbott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Whishermann is in Abbott's guard.
