Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Santos (ranked 1319 p4p, 156 weight class) and Narek Sirakanian (ranked 2360 p4p, 277 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos misses the body punch
and Sirakanian counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Santos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but Sirakanian is retaining full guard.
Sirakanian is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Santos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sirakanian keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sirakanian can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Santos controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos is pressing down on Sirakanian's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sirakanian is holding on for now.

Santos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sirakanian doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santos.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sirakanian wants to get back to full guard.
Santos frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Santos wants to control the pace but Sirakanian is squirming around nicely.
Sirakanian felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Santos jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sirakanian is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sirakanian and Santos has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Santos has hold of Sirakanian's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sirakanian tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Santos cranks the arm and Sirakanian screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sirakanian, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
