The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pratt wants to stand back up but Young manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young wants to stand but Pratt is controlling his arm.
Young staying calm.
Pratt wants to control but Young postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pratt is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Young is trying to control. Pratt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Young in particular looking to stall.
Pratt is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Young feints and as Pratt raises his hands in defense, Young changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pratt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Young off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Young drives through and clinches with Pratt against the cage.

Young manages to pull guard.
Young is pulling down on Pratt's head. It's preventing any offense from Pratt, at least for the moment.
Pratt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Young has a closed guard, preventing Pratt from standing up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pratt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Young gets a double leg takedown into Pratt's guard.
Pratt is looking to stand back up but Young counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pratt.

Pratt is trying to maintain the position but Young is very close to passing his half guard.

Pratt lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

That's time! Pratt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pratt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Young is fending him off so far but Pratt persists. Nope, Young circles away and we're back to standing.

Young has knee on belly momentarily but Pratt bucks him off and regains half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Young misses with a right hand
and Pratt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Young fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pratt sprawls well initially but Young persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Young throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Pratt to regain full guard.
Pratt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Young is controlling him.
Young would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Young not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Young throws a strike but Pratt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pratt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pratt looking to sit in guard and control but Young gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Young trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Pratt is looking to stand up but Young isn't so interested in that idea.

Jack Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pratt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Young stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Young wants it to stay on the feet.
Jewel Pratt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Young drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Pratt manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Pratt tightens his grip and picks Young up, before dumping him to the ground. Young manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pratt is standing up over Young. Young looks to escape but Pratt dives into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Young is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pratt asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Young tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Pratt misses with a takedown attempt - Young sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Young closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pratt to the mat! Pratt manages to get full guard.

Well Young has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
