The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdock connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Marshall keeps the fight on the outside.
Murdock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marshall as he avoids it easily.

Murdock throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Murdock throws a right and a left that both miss.
Murdock looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murdock replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Marshall blocks it well.

Murdock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Marshall lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Marshall seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Marshall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Marshall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Murdock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marshall is working away from the top position though.

Marshall has closed the distance and engaged Murdock in a clinch.
Marshall wants to break the clinch but can't.
Marshall pushes Murdock back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Murdock, as that shot connected.
Murdock fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Marshall has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Murdock tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marshall defends well and Murdock ends up having to push Marshall into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Marshall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Murdock enables Marshall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murdock manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Murdock is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Marshall dives into side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marshall cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Marshall lands a couple of good shots and Murdock has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marshall is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Marshall gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Marshall gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Marshall apologises and we restart here on the feet.
