PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carlo Horn (ranked 25172 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tamid Nasib (ranked 5306 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamid Nasib will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carlo Horn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tamid Nasib!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Horn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Horn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Horn is taking a breather. Nasib says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nasib is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Horn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Horn stops Nasib from getting back to his feet.
Horn prevents Nasib from improving his position.
Nasib tries to kick Horn off but Horn keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tamid Nasib seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nasib feints a jab promting Horn to slip. Nasib then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Horn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Horn closes the distance and clinches up with Nasib, looking for a takedown. Horn pushes Nasib against the cage but Nasib circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horn showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nasib.
Nasib throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nasib will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A counter left hand to the body from Horn misses its target.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nasib tries to clinch up but Horn circles away and keeps his distance.
Nasib tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Horn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A nice combination there by Nasib.
Horn slips a jab and a cross from Nasib.
Horn shoots in looking for a takedown. Nasib tries to sprawl out of it but Horn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nasib manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nasib is looking for the big counter here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nasib throws a series of punches but Horn moves out of range.
Horn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Nasib drives through and clinches with Horn against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Horn's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Nasib manages to pull guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Horn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nasib avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Horn controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tamid Nasib dominated that round.
That's time! Horn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nasib fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nasib misses with the combination.
Horn is looking to counter the offense by Nasib and move into the clinch.
Horn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horn rushes Nasib and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Horn drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nasib gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Nasib is pressed up against the cage. Horn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nasib down to the mat. Nasib avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nasib feints a jab promting Horn to slip. Nasib then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Horn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


Horn is rocked!
Nasib is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Horn like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Horn from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tamid Nasib!
