Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnell Kline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddie Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kline is trying to buck Ortiz off.
Ortiz trying to control the action but Kline is working from the bottom.
A lull in the action here as Ortiz stalls from top position.
Kline prevents Ortiz from moving into mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortiz wants to stand but Kline is controlling his arm.
Kline tries to buck Ortiz off but Ortiz is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kline drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kline moves in looking to clinch but Ortiz pushes him off.

Ortiz closes the distance and clinches.

Ortiz has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kline clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Ortiz controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ortiz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kline wants to control his opponent's hands but Ortiz gets his hands free.
Kline is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Kline covering up well under a series of strikes from Ortiz.

Kline is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Ortiz has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Kline trying to control the action but Ortiz just sinks the hooks in.

Ortiz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kline has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ortiz is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Ortiz keeps control of the position as Kline tries to break free.
Kline is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Ortiz.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ortiz punches the canvas rather than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddie Ortiz dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Ortiz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kline tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ortiz is in Kline's guard.
Ortiz won't allow Kline to sweep him here.
Ortiz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ortiz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kline dives on top into guard.

Ortiz wants to stand and escape but Kline is having none of it.
Kline trying to control the position from guard on top but Ortiz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kline really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kline got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ortiz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kline has managed to get both his arms back between Ortiz's legs - danger averted.
Kline trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ortiz's guard.

Kline is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ortiz wants to get back to his feet but Kline is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ortiz wants to sweep here but Kline controlling him for the moment.
Kline in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Kline slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Freddie Ortiz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kline has closed the distance and engaged Ortiz in a clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kline jumps guard but Ortiz stands there with Kline around his waist. Kline gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kline content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kline is trying to stall.

Ortiz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kline is trying to defend but Ortiz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ortiz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kline!

Ortiz is breathing heavily.
Kline tries to lock up and control but Ortiz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kline is trying desperately to improve position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ortiz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ortiz lands a nice shot to the head.
Ortiz with a couple of short strikes.
Freddie Ortiz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kline throwing hammer fists to the chest of Ortiz. What's that going to do exactly?

Freddie Ortiz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Kline wanted to stand there but Ortiz had control of the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kline postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kline distracts Ortiz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kline trying to control but Ortiz is working from the bottom.

Kline drops back looking for a leg! Ortiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ortiz manages to kick Kline off! Kline jumps back into Ortiz's guard.
Ortiz pulls Kline in close to prevent any damage.

Ortiz clinches up with Kline and pushes him back against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ortiz prevents the takedown attempt.
Kline takes a shot to the head.

Ortiz jumps into guard, dragging Kline to the mat.
Kline tries to stand but Ortiz is controlling from the bottom.

Kline drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ortiz dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ortiz slips nicely into half guard.
Ortiz wants to pass the guard but Kline is defending well.
Ortiz stops Kline from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ortiz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ortiz lands with a punch from half guard.

Ortiz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kline sees it coming and defends easily.
Ortiz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ortiz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kline with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kline might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ortiz working over Kline with some ground and pound. Kline looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ortiz slows the pace down in half guard.
Kline has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ortiz is working away from the top position though.

Freddie Ortiz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ortiz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
