Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 3545 p4p, 373 weight class) and Shoju Bayushi (ranked 7721 p4p, 559 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bayushi's choice of entrance music: Scorpions - Always Somewhere. Shoju Bayushi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoju Bayushi!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin dives in for a single leg takedown but Bayushi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A little jabbing left from Bayushi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Steve Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bayushi throws a leg kick but Austin moved away.
Austin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bayushi manages to avoid it.
Nice jab there from Bayushi.
The crowd cheers as Bayushi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Austin doesn't seem phased though.


Austin is rocked!
Austin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bayushi but Bayushi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It seemed like Bayushi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Austin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bayushi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin goes for a takedown attempt but Bayushi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A jab from Bayushi does it's job there.
Oh Austin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bayushi scores with a body shot.
Austin seems to have got his legs back now.
Bayushi sizes up Austin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Austin switches off momentarily and Bayushi cracks him with a monster right hand! Austin topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Bayushi dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Bayushi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shoju Bayushi!
An out of breath Shoju Bayushi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
