The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thiago pivots, looking for a leg kick but Toten is out of range and Thiago settles back down.
Toten throws out a loose jab but Thiago uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wolfhelm Toten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Toten misses with an uppercut. Thiago saw that one coming.
Toten takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Toten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thiago.

Toten throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thiago sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Thiago turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Thiago lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Toten tries to clinch but Thiago moves out of range.

A little feinted left hand from Thiago on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Toten connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Thiago momentarily.

Toten is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Toten's jab looks to have found its range, popping Thiago under the eye.

The fighters circle momentarily. Thiago darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Thiago closes the distance but Toten moves to the side
and Toten counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Thiago counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Thiago does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Toten looks to throw the jab but Thiago is out of range.
Toten throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thiago Thiago will probably get the nod.
