Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Harrell (ranked 25150 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbas Yamadaev (ranked 5555 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Harrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abbas Yamadaev!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamadaev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Yamadaev controls the position from side control.
Harrell dodges the ground and pound from Yamadaev.
Yamadaev tries to stand but Harrell is controlling his head.

Yamadaev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harrell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrell is letting Yamadaev control him for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The strikes coming from Yamadaev are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Yamadaev is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Harrell's shoulder. That is not cool.

Yamadaev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yamadaev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Yamadaev slows the pace down.
Harrell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yamadaev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Harrell trying to control but Yamadaev flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Yamadaev working for a choke but Harrell is defending well.
Harrell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Yamadaev's guard. Nice work there by Harrell.
Harrell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Harrell trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamadaev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Harrell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Harrell stands up over Yamadaev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Harrell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Yamadaev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Harrell's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harrell keeping full guard, as Yamadaev tries to pass.
Yamadaev trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Yamadaev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Yamadaev content to stall in guard here.
Let's hope that Yamadaev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Harrell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yamadaev postures up in Harrell's guard and throws a big left but Harrell blocks it.
Harrell wants to control the position but Yamadaev says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yamadaev is controlling the pace.
Yamadaev landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yamadaev is working for a kimura but Harrell is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abbas Yamadaev dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Harrell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yamadaev's guard.
Harrell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Harrell throws a strike but Yamadaev rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Harrell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yamadaev controls the pace.

Yamadaev wants to pass the guard but Harrell is keeping the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yamadaev is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Harrell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Harrell throws a front kick that sends Yamadaev stumbling back into the cage.
Yamadaev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yamadaev misses with a hook
and Harrell counters with a thumping low kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Yamadaev drives through with a takedown into Harrell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Harrell wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Yamadaev manages to pass to side control.

Still in half guard, Yamadaev seems content to control.

Yamadaev seems to be looking for submissions.
Yamadaev works his way into full mount!
Yamadaev wants to get back to his feet but Harrell is holding on tight.

Yamadaev avoids the attempt from Harrell to control.
Yamadaev controlling the position easily from mount.

Abbas Yamadaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Yamadaev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Harrell's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Harrell manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Harrell breaks the clinch.
Harrell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Harrell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Yamadaev shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yamadaev thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Yamadaev is controlling the pace.
Yamadaev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harrell's head.
Abbas Yamadaev has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yamadaev is looking for a kimura but Harrell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yamadaev to get the leverage.

Yamadaev feints and as Harrell raises his hands in defense, Yamadaev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Yamadaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Harrell is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Harrell is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Harrell shoots in but no luck this time.
Harrell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Yamadaev throws a counter combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Harrell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Yamadaev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Harrell to the ground. Yamadaev is now in Harrell's guard.

Abbas Yamadaev is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Abbas Yamadaev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Yamadaev winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
