Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adolph Marshall (ranked 5653 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harley Black (ranked 5440 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adolph Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harley Black!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marshall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marshall as he avoids it easily.
Marshall defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Black.
Black doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Marshall counters with a leg kick.
Adolph Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harley Black.
Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Black takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Black moves in looking to clinch but Marshall pushes him off.
A counter left hand to the body from Marshall misses its target.
Marshall lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Black at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marshall connects with a body shot that sends Black's belly button to the back.
Marshall avoids the body shot from Black.

Marshall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Black sprawls well initially but Marshall persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Marshall looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Marshall thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Black's head.
Marshall winds up and cracks Black with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Marshall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marshall connects with a nice short shot to Black's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black tries to kick Marshall off but Marshall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Black is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Marshall scores with a couple of nice shots.
Black looks like he's trying to stand up.
Marshall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Marshall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Marshall is taking a breather. Black says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marshall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Black with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marshall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marshall prevents Black from improving his position.
Marshall winds up and cracks Black with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Marshall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Marshall looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Black is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marshall connects with a nice short shot to Black's temple.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Marshall lands a nice short elbow.
Marshall looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Adolph Marshall has been cut.

Marshall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Black's guard.

Black kicks Marshall off and gets to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marshall darts in looking for a takedown but Black gets double underhooks and turns Marshall into the cage.
Black avoids the body shot from Marshall.
Harley Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Black moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Black blocks a head kick by Marshall.
Black shoots in and drives through. Marshall sprawls well.
Black is breathing heavily.

Black drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marshall controls Black momentarily but Black frees himself.

Black stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Marshall has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Black manages to get his head free but now Marshall has transitioned to an armbar! Black grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Marshall! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Adolph Marshall!
