PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kronos Gracie (ranked 2559 p4p, 125 weight class) and Arnold Jordan (ranked 5634 p4p, 190 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by https://youtu.be/X3-H5jGoags. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kronos Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arnold Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan works the jab nicely.
Jordan connects with a jab.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jordan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jordan misses the jab.
Gracie with a poor takedown
and Jordan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jordan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kronos Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie moves out of range of the strikes.
Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Jordan avoids it well and moves away.
Jordan misses the jab.

Jordan throws out a loose jab but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jordan cracks Gracie with a right hand to the side of the head.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gracie's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jordan wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Jordan keeps moving.
Gracie prevents Jordan from getting back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jordan lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jordan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Kronos Gracie's cut is getting worse.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jordan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jordan misses with a straight left.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jordan sprawls and moves away.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Jordan had a free shot at his head there.
Jordan misses with a looping right.
Jordan throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Gracie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jordan's guard.
Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jordan wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gracie stops Jordan from standing up.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jordan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jordan wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.

Jordan has his feet on Gracie's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jordan looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Gracie tries to counter with a takedown but Jordan is quick to defend against it.
Jordan stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arnold Jordan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kronos Gracie's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jordan throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it.
Gracie half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Jordan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jordan stuffs the takedown.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jordan counters with a straight right hand.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jordan defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Jordan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jordan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kronos Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jordan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A slow jab from Jordan misses its intended target.
Jordan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jordan throws a hook but Gracie blocks it.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jordan but Jordan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Arnold Jordan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jordan lands a glancing blow to the side of Gracie's head.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jordan counters with a stiff right hand.
Jordan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jordan throws a hook but Gracie blocks it.
Jordan dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Jordan sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Jordan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jordan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie prevents Jordan from getting back to his feet.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jordan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jordan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jordan!

Jordan decides to stand back up.
Jordan misses with a straight right.
Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Jordan avoids it well and moves away.
Gracie moves away from the strike by Jordan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie has his takedown stuffed
letting Jordan counter with a right hand.


Kronos Gracie's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Arnold Jordan seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jordan throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jordan to the mat! Jordan manages to get full guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Jordan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jordan manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Jordan's guard.
Jordan wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arnold Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jordan's guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jordan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jordan tries to escape but Gracie is in control.

Gracie has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jordan is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gracie yanks on the arm and Jordan is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gracie.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kronos Gracie!
An out of breath and clearly excited Kronos Gracie thanked HELLBENT for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
