Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chaves Mariatte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch up but Mariatte circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chaves Mariatte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Silva.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mariatte has him pressed against the cage.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but Mariatte keeps him there for the moment.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mariatte holds on and takes a little breather.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Mariatte, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mariatte looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
