The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernier throws a big shot that misses.
Fitzgerald throws out a counter right but Bernier avoids it with no problem.
Bernier scoring well with a low kick there.
Bernier gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Fitzgerald connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fitzgerald takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Bernier fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fitzgerald lands a jab to the head.
Fitzgerald fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bernier has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

No joy there for Bernier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fitzgerald darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bernier bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bernier definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

It seemed like Fitzgerald was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
