Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregg Cline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Kalkbrenner!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalkbrenner scores with a takedown into Cline's guard.

Cline wants to stand up but Kalkbrenner is controlling him.

Kalkbrenner won't allow Cline to get back to his feet.

Kalkbrenner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cline has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalkbrenner has managed to get both his arms back between Cline's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kalkbrenner attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Cline was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Cline tries to sprawl but Kalkbrenner drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Cline wants to sweep but Kalkbrenner has passed to side control!

It looks like Kalkbrenner might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kalkbrenner has knee on belly momentarily but Cline bucks him off and regains half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kalkbrenner in particular looking to stall.
Cline is looking for a sweep. Kalkbrenner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kalkbrenner is looking to advance position but Cline won't allow it.

The fighters are battling for position here. Cline manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cline will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cline is looking to improve his position but Kalkbrenner isn't that keen on the idea.

Kalkbrenner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kalkbrenner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cline really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Kalkbrenner is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Tyler Kalkbrenner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kalkbrenner moves into the clinch.
Come on Kalkbrenner - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Kalkbrenner gets control of Cline's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kalkbrenner will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cline would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kalkbrenner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kalkbrenner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cline can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kalkbrenner is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Cline to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Cline wants to sweep here but Kalkbrenner controlling him for the moment.

Kalkbrenner has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cline regains guard immediately.

Cline is trying to hold Kalkbrenner in close to prevent damage but Kalkbrenner has managed to pass into half guard.

Tyler Kalkbrenner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
