Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Herman (ranked 5489 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabrizio Rossi (ranked 24468 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabrizio Rossi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rossi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Herman's guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Herman enables Rossi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Herman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Herman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Herman attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Rossi moves into the clinch.

Herman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rossi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Herman to the mat. Herman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rossi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Herman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rossi works over Herman with some ground and pound from guard.
Herman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's time! Herman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Rossi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Herman backs up against the cage.
Rossi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
