Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Arteta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Palma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palma has chosen Give It All as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arteta doesn't manage to clinch there - Palma circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arteta looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Palma shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Arteta but Arteta pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Palma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arteta as he avoids it easily.
No luck for Palma with that takedown attempt.
Diego Arteta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Palma.

Palma closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Palma lands in his opponent's guard.

Palma postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Arteta is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Palma, into his guard.

Arteta decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Palma, up you get!
Palma shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arteta pinned against the cage. Arteta gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Arteta fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arteta fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Palma looks gassed!

Arteta stuffs the takedown attempt from Palma. Palma gets slowly back to his feet.
Palma swats away the attempt to clinch by Arteta.

Arteta takes the fight into the clinch.

Arteta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like John Palma has been cut.
Arteta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palma.
Arteta tries to clinch there but Palma circles away.
Palma takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Palma swats away the attempt to clinch by Arteta.
Palma takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Arteta moves in looking to clinch but Palma pushes him off.

Arteta closes the distance and clinches.
Arteta works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Arteta lands with a light punch inside.
A right hand to the body from Arteta.

Arteta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arteta scores with a nice right hand.

Palma is rocked!

Arteta darts in and clinches Palma up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Arteta creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Palma is still on wobbly legs! Can Arteta finish him?
Arteta swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A nice left hand lands by Arteta.
Arteta lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Arteta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Palma checks a leg kick.
Arteta is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Palma hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
