Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Sky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logan Sky has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Hand!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Logan Sky!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Sky or perhaps it was just good defense by Hand which made him look bad.
Hand moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Logan Sky has been cut.
Hand misses with a wild body shot.

Hand has Sky up against the cage in a clinch.

Sky gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hand looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sky is one step ahead there.

Sky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sky trying to control but Hand is working from the bottom.

Sky drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hand dives on top into guard.

Hand connects with a couple of short punches.

Sky is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hand has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sky throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Sky has his foot on Hand's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hand works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sky is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hand is squirming around, avoiding Sky's attempts to control the action.

Sky moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hand has worked his arm free - good work by Hand!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hand stuffs the takedown attempt from Sky. Sky gets slowly back to his feet.
Hand throws a nice looking combination but Sky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hand looks to land a right hand but Sky moved out of range.
Sky shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hand pinned against the cage. Hand gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hand throws a series of punches but Sky moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sky bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Sky advances to mount.

Sky working for a guillotine from mount but Hand is in no mood to give up.

Sky with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hand is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hand on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hand tries to get out of the position.
Hand is squirming around, avoiding Sky's attempts to control the action.
Hand slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sky is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hand sees it coming and defends easily.
Sky is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hand is working to get back to half guard.
Sky trying to control but Hand is having none of it.
Sky is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Hand is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hand throwing hammer fists to the chest of Sky. What's that going to do exactly?
Hand knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sky on the ground.

Sky looking for a guillotine from mount but Hand is having none of it.
Hand keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hand is looking to escape.

Sky looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Sky works his way to his opponent's back.
Hand covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Sky controlling well, preventing Hand from escaping the position.
Sky misses with an elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Logan Sky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sky changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hand tries to avoid it but Sky manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hand to the ground. Hand escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sky shoots for a takedown but Hand saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dan Hand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Sky.
Hand jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hand fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sky bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hand's guard.
Hand throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hand can't keep his opponent in guard - Sky advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Sky uses his free foot to push down on Hand's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hand.
Hand can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sky fails to land the takedown.
Hand throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sky sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hand swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hand throws a shot from downtown. Sky moves away and avoids it.
Hand fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sky manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Hand looks to land a left hand but Sky moved out of range nicely.
Dan Hand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hand misses with a double jab.
Hand keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Sky looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Sky is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Sky passes into half guard.

Sky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hand tries to buck Sky off but Sky is having none of it.
Hand is not content to let Sky control the position.

Sky is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hand is trying to escape and Sky transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hand is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sky! Very nice indeed!
