The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aurelio shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stanfield eats them both and turns towards Aurelio to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Aurelio tries to keep at a distance but Stanfield has taken the fight into the clinch.

Aurelio lands an uppercut.
Stanfield prevents Aurelio from breaking the clinch.

Aurelio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aurelio tries a head kick but it misses.
Aurelio tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Stanfield counters with a straight right hand.
Stanfield takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Aurelio misses the body punch
and Stanfield counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Marcelo Aurelio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Aurelio, as that shot connected.

Aurelio instigates a clinch.
Aurelio lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stanfield.

Aurelio is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stanfield can't fight it off and eventually Aurelio manages to take the fight to the floor. Stanfield looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Aurelio won't allow Stanfield to get back to his feet.
Stanfield trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Stanfield wants to stand up but Aurelio is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aurelio prevents Stanfield from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Stanfield tries to land a leg kick but Aurelio saw it coming and moves away.
Stanfield wants to clinch up but Aurelio keeps it at a distance.
Aurelio misses with a head kick.

Nice uppercut lands for Aurelio. That snapped Stanfield's head back.
Stanfield looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
