PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Reyes (ranked 5368 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test Two (ranked 5631 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Test Two was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roberto Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Test Two!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Two connects with a good right hand that stumbles Reyes. Reyes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Two tests Reyes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Two paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A head kick misses from Reyes.
Two is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Two lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The fighters circle momentarily. Two darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Two connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Reyes tries to clinch up but Two circles away and keeps his distance.
Two throws a right and a left that both miss.
Two scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Two lands a jab to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A lazy left from Two finds it's target.
Reyes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Two circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reyes ducks right into an uppercut from Two.
Reyes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Two connects with a crisp jab.
Two is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Reyes had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Reyes closes the distance looking to clinch
and Two counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Reyes throws a lazy uppercut
letting Two counter with a right hand.
Two might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Two lands with a hook. Reyes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Reyes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Two counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Two cracks Reyes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Good exchange - Two coming out on top.
Reyes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Two counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reyes throws a lazy right hand but Two sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Reyes sets himself, and Two steps forward looking for the clinch! Reyes avoids it this time.
Two has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Two cracks Reyes with a right hand to the side of the head.
Two jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Two fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reyes, pushing him back against the cage.

Reyes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Two gets to his feet. Reyes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Two scores with a sloppy right hand. Reyes should have avoided that one.
Reyes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Reyes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Nice cross by Two.
Two moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Two bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Reyes's head backwards.
Reyes shoots in looking for a takedown but Two manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reyes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Reyes fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Reyes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reyes is breathing heavily.

Two lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Two's coach down at Doherty's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Two's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Two moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Two scores with a jab to the head.
Reyes needs to keep his hands up - Two had a free shot at his head there.
Two lands a jab to the nose.
Reyes looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Two bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Two connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Two lands a really nice looking cross but Reyes seems unphased.
Reyes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reyes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Two scores with a jab. Reyes acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Two circles away from the clinch attempt.
Two's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Two duly obliges.
Two shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Reyes eats them both and turns towards Two to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Two connects with a single shot there.
Two lands with a straight right. Reyes didn't see that one coming.
Two connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A left lands for Two.
Two's jab looks to have found its range, popping Reyes under the eye.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Two lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Reyes tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Two counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Test Two dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Two moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Reyes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

A punch lands to the side of Reyes 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Test Two seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Reyes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A decent looking cross lands there for Two.
Two closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Reyes! Two dives in looking to finish! Reyes is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Test Two!
