Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Reilly Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anouska Nikolaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reilly Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anouska Nikolaev!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaev misses the shot to the body.
Bell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nikolaev is fending him off so far but Bell persists. Nope, Nikolaev circles away and we're back to standing.
Bell shoots for a double leg takedown but Nikolaev sprawls well. He's pushed Bell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bell is looking to clinch.
Bell fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reilly Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nikolaev keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bell closes the distance and clinches up with Nikolaev, looking for a takedown. Bell pushes Nikolaev against the cage but Nikolaev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Bell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nikolaev won't be happy with that.

Nikolaev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nikolaev can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bell wants to stand but Nikolaev has his arm trapped.

Nikolaev can't do much from the bottom here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bell wants to pass the guard but Nikolaev is keeping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Reilly Bell will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Bell closes the distance and clinches up with Nikolaev, looking for a takedown. Bell pushes Nikolaev against the cage but Nikolaev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Reilly Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nikolaev paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nikolaev tries to avoid it but Bell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nikolaev to the ground. Nikolaev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reilly Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bell fails with the takedown
and Nikolaev cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bell looks to land a right hand but Nikolaev moved out of range.
Bell wants to clinch up but Nikolaev keeps it at a distance.

Bell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nikolaev to the mat! Nikolaev manages to get full guard.

Bell drops back looking for a leg! Nikolaev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nikolaev manages to kick Bell off! Bell jumps back into Nikolaev's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nikolaev keeping moving, preventing Bell from controlling successfully.
Anouska Nikolaev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nikolaev throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Nikolaev had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nikolaev Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bell's back instead.

What can Bell do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nikolaev is trying to stick to Bell's back but Bell is turning into Nikolaev. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nikolaev's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bell.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Reilly Bell.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
