Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 1488 p4p, 179 weight class) and Harold Shipman (ranked 2744 p4p, 318 weight class). Shipman has chosen I'll beat yo ass. as his entrance music. Vladimir Tarlac could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Harold Shipman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Tarlac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Harold Shipman!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shipman dives in and scores a takedown into Tarlac's guard.
Shipman stays in close to Tarlac's body and controls the position.

Tarlac escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shipman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shipman stands and throws Tarlac's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tarlac is trying to escape the position but Shipman is controlling the position.

Shipman gets to mount! Tarlac was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Shipman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Good control from Shipman.
Tarlac is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
I really don't envy Tarlac right now.
Shipman controls the position.
Tarlac trying to control the action but Shipman just sinks the hooks in.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shipman has good solid back control here.
Tarlac just trying to survive but Shipman is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

I really don't envy Tarlac right now.
Shipman keeps control of the position easily here as Tarlac tries to buck him off.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You can see the frustration on Tarlac's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Shipman trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Tarlac doesn't escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tarlac tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Harold Shipman dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

letting Shipman counter with a right hand.
Vladimir Tarlac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shipman takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Tarlac's corner calls for a 1-2. Tarlac obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Shipman moves into the clinch successfully.
Shipman is working for takedown but Tarlac is calmly controlling the position for now.

Tarlac lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tarlac lands the left hand.
Tarlac throws a lazy right hand but Shipman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Shipman finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Tarlac fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Vladimir Tarlac is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shipman is looking to clinch but Tarlac is avoiding it.
Tarlac quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Shipman takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Shipman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tarlac connects with an inside leg kick.
Shipman avoids the body shot from Tarlac.
Shipman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Shipman counters with a series of strikes. Tarlac will be more careful next time no doubt.

Tarlac slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Tarlac throws a big elbow that misses.
Shipman keeping moving, preventing Tarlac from controlling successfully.
Shipman pulls Tarlac in close to his closed guard and prevents Tarlac from doing any damage or advancing position.
Tarlac wants to control from the top but Shipman keeps moving.
Tarlac trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Tarlac controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tarlac wants to slow Shipman down by chopping away at his legs.
Shipman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shipman shoots in for a takedown but Tarlac shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shipman tries to clinch but Tarlac is having none of it.
Shipman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Vladimir Tarlac has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tarlac lands a leg kick that knocks Shipman off balance momentarily.

Nice sprawl there from Tarlac as Shipman shoots in.
Shipman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vladimir Tarlac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harold Shipman.
Shipman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tarlac throws out the jab.
Tarlac pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shipman is out of range and Tarlac settles back down.
Shipman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shipman moves out of range of the leg kick from Tarlac.
Tarlac turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Shipman counters with a shoot takedown. Tarlac fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tarlac is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Tarlac wants to sweep but no luck.
Shipman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tarlac manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shipman manages to get himself to full guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Vladimir Tarlac showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Shipman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Harold Shipman decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
