Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Lobo (ranked 1750 p4p, 228 weight class) and Aspen Springfield (ranked 2262 p4p, 294 weight class). Lobo comes to the cage accompanied by Hayden James - Embrace. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 23 - 1, fighting out of London, Antonio Lobo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aspen Springfield!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Lobo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lobo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Springfield shoots for a double leg takedown but Lobo sprawls well. He's pushed Springfield's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lobo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Springfield counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Lobo connects with an inside leg kick.
Springfield throws a leg kick but Lobo sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Lobo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Springfield.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lobo misses with a wild body shot.
Lobo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Springfield.
Lobo thuds a left hand into Springfield's body.
Springfield looks winded!

Lobo drives through and clinches with Springfield against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lobo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lobo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Springfield's guard.


Springfield is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lobo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lobo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lobo forces his way into half guard.
Springfield felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Lobo is keen to just control but Springfield is a slippery customer.

Lobo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lobo works his way into full mount!
Springfield is squirming around, avoiding Lobo's attempts to control the action.
Lobo content just to control the position here.
Springfield prevents Lobo from taking his back.

Lobo is working hard here to advance position.

Lobo has control of Springfield's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Springfield regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lobo fails to take his opponent's back.

Lobo is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Springfield is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Springfield flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lobo anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Springfield and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lobo slips an arm under Springfield chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lobo has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lobo is squeezing on Springfield like an anaconda would it's prey. Springfield fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Antonio Lobo!
