Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Goncalves (ranked 6705 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Santos Jr (ranked 8214 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Goncalves looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncalves misses with a few strikes there.
Santos Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Goncalves throws out the jab.
Santos Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Goncalves tries to sprawl out of it but Santos Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goncalves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Goncalves counters with a two punch combo.
Santos Jr throws a right hand that Goncalves ducks under and follows up with a left that Goncalves also avoids with ease.

Santos Jr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Goncalves was covering up waiting for the punch and Santos Jr finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Santos Jr wants to get up but he can't break Goncalves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Santos Jr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos Jr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A looping hook to the body misses from Santos Jr. Goncalves does a little dance to reset his feet.

Santos Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goncalves's waist but Goncalves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos Jr off to one side.

Santos Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Goncalves walks away with a smile on his face. Santos Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Santos Jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goncalves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
