Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rex Rich (ranked 8335 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabrizio Iacomelli (ranked 5355 p4p, 487 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iacomelli has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rich's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Rich tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Iacomelli just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rich stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Rich keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Iacomelli's efforts to push away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rich tries to pull guard but Iacomelli won't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Iacomelli obliges.

Rich is pushing Iacomelli up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Come on Rich - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Iacomelli throws a leg kick
and Rich counters with a takedown into side control.
Rich has hold of Iacomelli's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Iacomelli tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rich cranks the arm and Iacomelli screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Iacomelli, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rex Rich!
